Adeleke re-elected as the 2026 Imole campaign reaches the finish line

The August 15, 2026 Osun governorship election ended with Governor Ademola Adeleke returned for a second term on the Accord platform.

The official result gave Adeleke 511,067 votes, ahead of APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji with 444,815 votes. The result closed a closely watched statewide contest and began a new post-election political phase in Osun.

Pelumi Olajengbesi served as Spokesperson of the Imole Campaign Council, placing him at the centre of the campaign’s public communication before, during and immediately after the election.

His responsibilities included responding to campaign controversies, articulating the council’s positions and participating in the public messaging around election conduct, political violence and post-election reconciliation.

For Pelumi, the conclusion of the governorship campaign did not mark an exit from electoral politics. Attention shifted quickly toward his own Accord candidacy for the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 House of Representatives election.

The statewide result therefore closes one chapter of his public record while providing organisational and communication experience that ITURA 2027 is now carrying into the next contest.
