2027: Olajengbesi points to the 2026 voting pattern across Oriade and Obokun

After the 2026 Osun governorship election, Pelumi Olajengbesi pointed to the combined voting pattern across Oriade and Obokun as evidence that the federal constituency may be entering a more competitive political phase ahead of 2027.

In Oriade Local Government Area, Accord recorded 21,343 votes while the APC recorded 14,863. In Obokun, Accord recorded 12,023 votes and the APC 16,120.

Across the two local governments, those governorship-election totals amount to 33,366 votes for Accord and 30,983 for the APC, a difference of 2,383 votes.

These figures were votes cast in the Osun governorship election, not votes cast for Pelumi Olajengbesi personally. The distinction matters, and this platform states it explicitly.

Olajengbesi nevertheless cited the pattern when arguing that long-standing assumptions about political influence in Oriade/Obokun are being tested and that the 2027 House of Representatives contest will be genuinely competitive.

The result now forms part of the political context around ITURA 2027 alongside his Accord candidacy, community engagements, volunteer mobilisation and the forthcoming Ijesa North Contract.
